TUDOR WATCH

The Tudor Watch Company was founded in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex. Wilsdorf registered the name "The Tudor" with the idea of creating a watch brand that upheld the same standards of reliability and precision as Rolex but at a more accessible price point. The Tudor brand was officially established in 1946, with Wilsdorf's vision of offering high-quality, Swiss-made watches designed for a broader market.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Tudor gained recognition for its robust and reliable tool watches, particularly the Tudor Oyster and Tudor Submariner collections. The Tudor Oyster series, launched in collaboration with Rolex, utilized Rolex's famous Oyster case design, offering water resistance and durability. Many early Tudor models, including the Oyster watches, shared parts with Rolex, such as cases, crowns, and bracelets, while housing high-quality Swiss movements.

The Tudor Oyster was one of the brand’s early successes, known for its simple yet elegant design, making it suitable for both professional and casual use. Its durable construction, combined with affordability, solidified Tudor’s reputation as a reliable alternative to Rolex.

Today, Tudor is celebrated for its robust craftsmanship, distinctive designs, and a legacy intertwined with Rolex, offering exceptional value and performance in the luxury watch market.
